In this article, Keith J. Atkins’ main subject is Islam Terrorism. He begins talking about the misconceptions of America, with many Americans thinking that the way to stop terrorism is to stop Al Qaeda, but in reality, to stop terrorism, we must stop the social cultural phenomenon of jihad. Atkins states that the jihad has entered 4GW, or fourth generation war, using terrorism, propaganda, infiltration and sabotage, guerrilla war, insurgency, and conventional warfare. To stop jihad as a whole, Americans must take the time to understand Islamic culture and values. By doing this, America would then be able to fight the War on Terrorism. Atkins talks about how terrorism is only one part of jihad, and the motive is to dominate the entire World and spread the word of Islam to make it the most dominate religion throughout Earth. Because of the many corrupted mosques present in America today, it is hard to find the source of terrorism itself in the U.S. America needs to understand jihad, because without doing this, America is defenseless in the War on Terrorism.
Keith J. Atkins’ point of view in this article is very simple. To stop the jihad, we must understand the jihad. This article is important to the reader because Atkins gives a summary on terrorism in the jihad and in America. This article will help the reader understand how everything on 9-11 happened, and who was behind it. In turn, this would help the reader understand many people’s point of views about the construction of Park51 at Ground Zero in New York City, NY. A very important point in this article is that many Americans have the preconception that only Al Qaeda is responsible for Islamic terrorism, but Americans need to understand that the jihad controls terroristic acts throughout the culture today with their use of 4GW. The reader will appreciate Atkins’ article because the article helps the reader better understand the culture and motives of Islamic terrorism inside of the jihad.
